Mabini, Batangas
Elevation: 525 MASL
Budget: 1250/pax

Mt. Gulugod Baboy is located in Mabini, Batangas near Anilao which is a popular diving spot in Batangas.

Gulugod Baboy means pig’s spine because of the contours of the hills. Gulod means hills, it is a pastoral scene of the mountain as you normally can see cows, goats and pigs when you trek this mountain.

We head to Gulugod Baboy at 650 in the morning. We have rented a van for Php6,000 for 5 pax plus Php50/per person for environmental fee. We reached the mountain around 730am with a 24 degree Celsius temperature. It was a bit gloomy and there was zero visibility of the hills in the mountains.

This is only a minor climb which only requires 1-2 hours to hike the mountain. Me and my friends did a short hike (30 minutes) to see the view and to do photoshoots. haha! I am glad that the view became clearer at 9 in the morning just in time before we leave. I was able to get a glimpse of the Balayan Bay and Batangas Bay. The Hills are indeed alive!

I miss hiking the mountains, they say you go to the mountains when you are broken. But, I don’t go to the mountains when I am broken. I go there for adrenaline rush, to test my endurance, my physical and mental strength. So when I go down, I can face almost anything! 😉 It is indeed one hell of an adventure when you hike mountains.
